Admission Process
When referring someone to Spring Mountain Sahara, please
contact our intake department at (702) 873-2400. We are available 24
hours a day, 7 days a week. Staff members will meet the
patient at either the facility or at alternate locations
within the community such as ER's, nursing homes, or
assisted living facilities. A pre-admission assessment will
be completed at that time to determine whether or not the
patient will benefit from our services. If the patient is
deemed appropriate for admission, the paperwork will be
completed and the patient transported to the facility.
Upon arrival at Spring Mountain Sahara the interdisciplinary
treatment team consisting of doctors, nurses, therapists,
and other healthcare professionals, will guide the patient
towards a path of healing in a secure and therapeutic
environment.
Admission Criteria
The program is appropriate for the following
older adults:

Patients who are physically and mentally able to
participate in the program.

An improvement in the patients level of functioning can
be anticipated.

The patient poses as an actual or imminent danger to
self and/or others due to a psychiatric disorder.

The patient needs continuous skilled observation,
evaluation, and treatment in a hospital.
-
The patient's condition can be expected to deteriorate
with less intensive treatment.
-
The patient has a medical condition or medication
sensitivity, that complicates treatment of the mental
disorder outside of the hospital.
Payment
Inpatient, psychiatric care is a covered
service of Medicare, Medicaid and other health insurance
programs. For more information about whether a specific
patient has covered days which make him or her eligible for
services at Spring Mountain Sahara, please call the intake
